JUKI PLC-1691 High-Post-Bed Industrial Sewing Machine is a specialized single-needle lockstitch machine engineered for three-dimensional sewing operations where conventional flat-bed machines have limited access.
Its high-post-bed construction and compact post top provide excellent accessibility when sewing difficult components such as bag bottoms, narrow gussets and curved three-dimensional assemblies. JUKI specifically designed the PLC-1691 for enhanced sharp-curve sewing, with only 2.8 mm between the needle entry point and the right edge of the post.
The machine incorporates unison/compound feeding, synchronizing material feeding with the alternating walking-foot mechanism to improve material control across multilayer sections. The alternating vertical movement can be adjusted from 2 to 7 mm, allowing the machine to accommodate variations in seam thickness.
With a maximum stitch length of 6 mm, maximum sewing speed of 1,600 stitches per minute, vertical-axis standard hook and a maximum knee-operated presser-foot lift of 10.5 mm, the PLC-1691 is optimized for controlled sewing rather than extremely high sewing speed.
The PLC-1691 is principally a non-apparel, three-dimensional product machine. JUKI specifically highlights bags and multilayer sections.
Suitable examples include:
Its walking-foot/unison-feed mechanism and up-to-7 mm alternating movement make it capable of handling multilayer portions encountered in bag manufacturing.
